Biography
Metrocles was an ancient Greek Cynic philosopher. After studying under the Peripatetic philosopher Theophrastus, he became dissatisfied with him and became a pupil of Crates of Thebes. Very little survives of his writings, but he is known as one of the first Cynics to adopt the practice of writing moral anecdotes about Diogenes and other Cynics.
