Biography
Heraclitus was an ancient Greek philosopher that has been seen as a material monist, a scientific cosmologist, a metaphysician, a religious thinker, an empiricist, a rationalist, a mystic, a conventional thinker, a developer of logic and one who denied the law of non-contradiction. Heraclitus was most famous for his belief in an ever-present change as the characteristic feature of the world, this idea was expressed in the sayings, "No man ever steps in the same river twice", and "panta rhei" ("everything flows").
